Manganese monoxide is an oxide with the molecular formula MnO. It appears as a gray-green powder, insoluble in water but soluble in acids. It is used as a catalyst, feed additive, trace element fertilizer, and also finds applications in medicine, smelting, welding, and dry battery manufacturing, among others. It can be produced by the thermal reduction of pyrolusite.

It is used as a raw material for producing ferrites, a drying agent in paints and varnishes, a catalyst in the production of amyl alcohol, a feed additive, and a trace element fertilizer. It is also applied in medicine, smelting, welding, textile reduction dyeing, glass coloring, oil bleaching, ceramics, and dry battery manufacturing, among other uses.
